Concept by ESB. Tegnestuen Kote is a fictional business.Back to the case study

Most of our work starts with something already there: a house, a flat, a clearing in the pines.

Tegnestuen Kote is a practice of two architects in Copenhagen. We design extensions, flat refits and small cabins for households across Denmark, in English or Danish.

Selected projects

Six recent projects in and around Copenhagen, each shown with the drawing that explains it best. Removed walls are dashed.

How we work

There are two of us, both architects MAA. The person who visits your home is the person who draws it and follows it on site.

We work on homes people live in: extensions, attics, flats, cabins and summer houses. Most projects take four to nine months from first visit to building permit.

  1. 1

    First visit

We come to the house or site, listen, measure the essentials and tell you plainly what is possible.

    Free in Greater Copenhagen

  2. 2

    Sketch proposal

Two or three options drawn to scale, each with a rough budget, so you can choose a direction.

    From DKK 18,000

  3. 3

    Permit drawings

The drawings and documents the municipality needs for a building permit, and the application itself.

    From DKK 26,000

  4. 4

    Building and site visits

Construction drawings, help choosing a builder, and site visits until the work is handed over.

    From DKK 34,000

Every stage has a fixed fee, agreed in writing before we start. You can stop after any stage and keep the drawings. Prices exclude VAT.

Tell us about your project

Write a few lines about your home and what you would like to change. Photos and old drawings help, if you have them. We reply within two working days.
